ADHD, Autism and Neurodiversity Support
Alongside my counselling and psychotherapy practice, I work with individuals who identify as neurodivergent or who are exploring whether ADHD, Autism, or other forms of neurodiversity may be part of their experience. Whilst I am not qualified to diagnose ADHD or Autism, I offer both professional knowledge and personal experience in this area. I understand that many neurodivergent individuals can spend years feeling different, misunderstood, overwhelmed, exhausted from masking, or struggling to make sense of emotional experiences that others seem to navigate more easily. My approach combines psychotherapy with psychoeducation, helping clients develop a deeper understanding of how their brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships interact. Together, we can explore sensory experiences, emotional regulation, executive functioning, self-esteem, relationships, burnout, masking, and the impact of living in a world that is often designed for neurotypical ways of thinking and being.
I am particularly interested in helping clients understand how emotional experiences are processed and held within the body and nervous system, and how increased awareness can lead to greater self-compassion, self-regulation, and wellbeing.
Alongside exploring challenges, we also recognise and celebrate the strengths often associated with neurodiversity, including creativity, innovation, deep focus, problem-solving abilities, empathy, unique perspectives, and authenticity. This work can be offered as ongoing therapy or as a structured programme of sessions agreed in advance, with a review process to assess progress, understanding, and desired outcomes.
